No business model is foolproof or infallible. At some point, even the biggest companies on the market had to change their plans. But how do you know it’s time to change your business strategy? And most importantly, how often should you change your business strategy?

As small business owners, we often have this false idea of perfection and harshly judge ourselves on our failures. Let’s be honest. It hurts to see our business fail in some way or another. But, we often fail to realize that change and growth are a mindset, and being flexible to change and knowing when to change is part of reaching your goals of growing and running a successful business.

In this of Small Business Stories, I chat with Liv Vieira, my powerlifting coach and co-owner of Iron Alliance Athletics Centre. It’s been exciting to watch Liv pivot and grow in her business over the last couple of years and see that she runs her small business with the same philosophy that she coaches her clients.

We talked about signs it’s time to change your strategy, how often you should update your business plan, and the mindset needed to overcome failure and be flexible to change in your business. We also got a little nerdy talking about business metrics 🤓.
