Brandon’s Cake

Anything can be art, it’s how you approach the process that counts. In 2024 I participated in a cake decorating workshop where we chose a photo from our phone to influence the cake decoration. I chose a photo of me and a horse I used to ride named Brandon. Brandon used to always bring me such peace and comfort.

Before decorating the cake we reflected on the feelings, colours, shapes, and textures from that photo. I chose chamomile to represent the calmness I always felt when I was with Brandon, and roses to align with the love and comfort I felt when riding.

This cake was decorated with chamomile infused icing, and topped with chamomile and rose petals.
